This came from a thread that I was following on the Warren Ellis WHITECHAPEL forums. For those who may not know, Warren Ellis is one of the most sought after writers in comics today, responsible for such classics as TRANSMETROPOLITAN, NEXTWAVE, THE AUTHORITY, PLANETARY and great runs on many mainstream books as well. Ellis’ forums and websites are amazing places to get lost amongst hordes of genuinely creative and weird people, and I’m there reading every day.
That said, one thing lead to another and BAM, I was creating this image for a thread, attempting to show both Warren’s love and contempt for the comics world. I’ve also been in a “Russian Poster” mood lately, hence the Soviet vibe.-Paul Sizer
